About

Join us in our partnership with Black Girls Rock of MS Inc. in bundling care packages for our veteran students on campus! Black Girls Rock of MS, Inc. is a small nonprofit that was founded almost six years ago. Their mission is to be a support vessel to young girls and women by providing services, opportunities, assistance, and resources to help young girls and women reach their full potential to impact the next generation. Through awareness, fundraising efforts, community service, and civic engagement, they work together to educate, empower, and engage young girls and women of color. For more information contact us at bgrofms@yahoo.com.During this event, you will be asked to unload items from drop off vehicles and later package items carefully and safely so we can later deliver them to veteran students. Gloves and masks are required to be worn during this service opportunity. We do ask that you be socially distant!

To safeguard the health of all members of MSU and the surrounding volunteer community during this global pandemic, the Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement highly recommends following all CDC guidelines, MSU recommendations, and Guidelines for Student Life Activities to engage safely in our events. To mutually protect the MSU community, community partners, and their clientele and provide a safe environment, everyone at this event is required and agrees to practice the following: self-screening, on-site temperature checks, wearing face coverings, frequent sanitization, and social distancing of at least six feet. Also, the university has published requirements for the use of face coverings while on campus. If you cannot wear a face-covering due to a medical condition, request accommodations through the Office of Disability Support Services. We ask that individuals who willingly choose to disregard these recommendations forego registering for the event.
