Lauryn and I were the only people there today. He hopes we will pick back up after break. I hope more people get the chance to hear about this opportunity. We also completed three plarn balls each. I'm aiming for 5 by the end of the semester.
I really enjoy this time that Lauryn and I set aside for service for others and for just catching up. Although I haven't had the chance to see how these plarn balls get used in person, I like to imagine that someone out there appreciates them.
Today I helped J with his math homework. When he finished, he worked on another sheet that he pretty much had down pack all by himself. So I began helping Anna and Skylar with their computer games.
There was a larger amount of kids there today which was exciting. I worked with siblings Deante and Gabbi. Then we all colored and learned about some black activists for Black History Month.
Today we were back in our usual room. Lauren has class till 3:50 so we’re always 10 minutes late, but it’s okay because we still came right? Today I did 5 whole plarn balls! That’s like record breaking so that was fun. I say this every time but I love having the opportunity to do this because it’s a time where I can catch up with Lauren and do something that I finally have the hang of.
Today the Lambda Honor Society threw the kids a valentines day party with pizza, cookies, and candy. Milah also made me a heart. I really appreciated it!
Today, as always, was really chill. We were on the third floor lobby this time instead. Good thing you can plarn from anywhere!
Today I met a kid named Joshua and I taught him the way we learned to multiply and divide two digit numbers. I really appreciated that he listened, learned, and began using the way to solve the rest of his problems.
